Campaign/Organizing Internship

Y Strategy is a full-service political consulting firm based in Austin, TX. We are looking for motivated, reliable, and enthusiastic individuals to be part-time interns. Our paid internships are perfect for students of any major with interests in politics, communications, or advocacy. You will have the opportunity to learn how modern progressive political campaigns are run as well as make meaningful connections with the community. TASKS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: • Engaging and informing voters and community members via phone and in person through canvassing • Assisting full-time staff with projects in: communications, finance, and operations • Staffing candidates at events and collecting signatures/sign-in sheets REQUIREMENTS: • Must be able to commit 10 hours per week (6 office, 4 field) • Must have strong verbal communication skills as well as interpersonal communication skills. • Must remain organized and accurate when recording their activities or maintaining their materials. • Must maintain a tactful, positive, personable, outgoing, and enthusiastic attitude when interacting with voters. • Must be professional as well as self-directed and able to work well in a team. • Must take proper safety precautions on the job, have basic map-reading skills such as use of GPS on a smartphone or tablet app.
