Job Description: 
Policy and Organizing Internships with Environment Texas Currently available: Clean Air and Clean Water Interns with Environment Texas help us educate and engage Texans on the most critical environmental issues of our time, including access to clean air and water. What will you do as a policy and organizing intern with Environment Texas? You’ll help us get our issues into the media by writing and editing press releases, pitching media to cover the big story, planning press conferences and even delivering statements to the press. You’ll also help us build coalitions of diverse parties to show our elected officials that despite the polarized nature of Texas politics, we share some core environmental values and recognize that clean air and clean water in Texas is worth fighting for. You’ll help organize events, including our big 10 year anniversary party in the winter. You’ll also help us lobby decision-makers, including figuring out what makes our representatives tick and who influences them, drafting and delivering testimony on behalf of Environment Texas to city governments and agency public hearings. Ultimately, you’ll help us build the kind of public and political support it takes to win. What will you learn as a policy and organizing intern with Environment Texas? You’ll learn how to analyze environmental problems, push for smart solutions, and build the public support it takes to win. You’ll work side-by-side with one of our organizers, learning the ropes and taking on real challenging projects. You’ll attend briefings and trainings to learn even more about environmental issues and gain organizing skills. This internship is open to all majors, but we're looking for students who have an interests in the environment, politics, policy analysis, and grassroots organizing and social change.
