Job Description: 
The office of State Representative Mary González is accepting applications for a Communications Intern now through September 5th at 5:00 PM. Fellowship Description: The Communications Intern will assist with Rep. González' online presence and social networking capacity. As an intern, you will invest 15 hours per week in the office. The internship will run from September 15, 2014 - December 14, 2014 (possibility to extend internship through June 1, 2015)

Eligibility: 1. Full-time undergraduate student 2. Knowledge of Social Media & PR 3. Interest in social justice 4. Demonstrated professionalism including excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills, strong organization skills, and accuracy and attention to detail. Steps to apply: 1. Our interns join us at the Texas State Capitol, where they have access to a state computer and all of the software provided by the Legislative Council. They will also have access to training seminars on legislative research, and be able to attending committee hearings and legislative briefings. In our office, we are committed to providing interns an opportunity to explore topics that interest them, increase their skills, and broaden their horizons at the intersection of public policy and social justice. We hope that every intern who joins our team leaves with a better understanding not only of the state political system, but of their personal political beliefs and ideologies.
