Job Description: 
The Texas Public Policy Foundation is a 501c3, non-profit, research think tank that provides the opportunity to work with some of the best free-market thinkers in the country who research a wide range of different policy areas that impact not just Texas, but the entire country. Interns work alongside staff members and participate in meaningful research that impacts the world we live in. Communications interns will gain experience in writing, editing and creating communication products including press releases, commentaries, research, social posts, policy briefs and more. Interns will work with the Foundation’s Communication department filled with industry leaders with vast experience in both political and non-profit communication. Their experience in campaigning, digital marketing and media relations bring a unique blend of perspectives and tactics to the think tank world. This top-notch team is ready and willing to mentor, cultivate talent and provide hands-on learning opportunities for communication interns. Successful Interns Our internship class is generally current undergraduate or graduate students, recent graduates, or students between semesters who are flexible, project-oriented self-starters and can work with a wide range of leadership types. They are open-minded and hardworking, with good research, writing, and interpersonal skills and ready to take on projects unique to the Foundation. Successful interns at the Foundation understand our principles of liberty, personal responsibility, and free enterprise, and are excited to see the unique constraints faced by a non-profit in our efforts to reshape public policy in Texas and around the world. Is it paid? Payment for part-time interns (15/20-hour minimum) is a $500 stipend for the semester and a $1000 stipend for the semester for full-time interns (40-hour minimum). What are the hours? TPPF offers a part-time, flexible schedule to coincide with students’ university schedules between the hours of 8:30-5:30 Monday through Friday.
