Community Organizing Fellow Jolt is seeking a full time organizing fellow to work directly with the Lead Organizer and the rest of the organizing team to build and maintain Jolt’s student chapter and young adult union program across Texas. Additionally the organizing fellow will assist the organizing team in implementing campaign plans and managing membership recruitment. Daily tasks may include: volunteer outreach, coordinating with student chapter leaders, data entry, and event planning. Duties and Responsibilities Support and help manage Jolt volunteers across Texas Identify and set up new student chapters/unions in the DFW area Support Jolt field staff by helping organize and coordinate student chapters and unions Plan events and actions with on-the-ground Jolt volunteers and staff Support special projects, events, and Jolt teams as needed Represent the organization at community activities to enhance the organization’s community profile Establish and maintain good working relationships with community partners to help achieve the goals of the organization Assist in the development and management of membership recruitment and retention systems Provide support in administrative tasks such as maintaining the database with accurate and relevant data Qualifications Strong commitment to social justice and enthusiasm for Jolt’s mission High organizational skills and detail oriented Excellent written and verbal communication skills Self-motivated, fast, independent learner Positive attitude and team oriented Youth organizing experience is a plus Reports To & Location This position reports directly to the Lead Organizer and is based in Dallas, Texas. Salary & Benefits Shared housing with other interns in Garland, Texas provided by Jolt, $100 monthly stipend will be provided Food for household each month Washer/Dryer provided Transportation - car or public transportation provided
