Junior Campaign Associate Internship

KC Strategies, an award-winning, full-service political campaign consulting firm is currently seeking one to three superior candidates for our competitive Junior Campaign Associate Internship for the upcoming Texas Primary Election Season. Get familiar with our work at www.kcstrategies.com These highly desirable internships will put you in the middle of the planning, tactical, and strategic side of campaigning. You will not be working for one individual candidate but, will be working on war room projects directly with the strategists who direct dozens of campaigns. You will be assigned various projects commensurate with your demonstrated skill, ability, interest, and dedication. You will report directly to the owners and will have ample opportunity to earn one-on-one learning time with them. You will not be a secretarial gopher for a middle management staffer. Assigned projects are all intended to teach you the framework for running successful campaigns and will directly assist us in crafting political strategy and tactics for our clients. The projects may include but, are not limited to all types of election research, budgeting, list development, mapping, modeling, designing, formatting, drafting, writing, editing and providing briefings on particular research assignments. You will not be electioneering door-to-door. You will not be manning a phone bank. You will not answer phones, take messages or file paperwork, but not every assignment will be sexy. You will earn better assignments as you exhibit competence and capability. Your responsibilities and opportunities are limited only by your consistency and performance. You do not have to be experienced with campaigns or politics to apply. We expect to teach you the basics of campaigns, but you must be able to manage yourself, your time and work with complete independence. You must be self-determined, assertive, adaptable, have strong communication skills but, you do not have to necessarily be an obnoxious political extrovert. Youth is fine, but you must be a mature, self-starter with a strong work ethic. Personal political beliefs are not a factor for acceptance, though you must be willing to work on Republican candidate campaigns and, conversely (as this is a Primary position), be willing to work against Republican candidates. This is not an advocacy issue or policy job; this is about the research, planning and execution tactics of partisan elections. Our work is very client sensitive and discretion is demanded as a personal trait. Strong understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Social Media, graphic design, and internet research abilities are all highly desirable. We try to tailor your experience to your strengths and interests and/or to areas that you specifically desire to improve. This position is not paid. The position can be part-time or full-time and hours can be flexible to your schedule. Please let us know your availability when you contact us. Not all positions will be filled if the candidates do not meet our standards. You must be willing to commit to the internship until the March 6th, 2018 primary date.
