Job Description: 
The Office of Senator Judith Zaffirini is looking for interns seeking experience within the Texas Legislature for the Summer 2020 term. Interns will have the opportunity to assist staff with policy development, legislative and constituent work, and meeting/event planning. The work schedule can be flexible; however, candidates ideally must be able to work a minimum of 15 hours a week. Candidates may apply for a semester, summer, or multiple semesters---we especially welcome candidates who wish to continue through session! Qualified applicants will display strong organizational skills, excellent written and oral communication abilities, professional appearance, a positive attitude with a willingness to learn and take direction, and personal accountability for work done. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: assisting with constituent casework, conducting policy research and developing bills, assisting in preparing the Senator for committee hearings, attending meetings and events related to Capitol business, and writing letters and memoranda.
