Job Description: 
The Texas House Democratic Caucus (HDC) is hiring a Policy Manager to assist the Executive Director in executing a comprehensive public policy strategy for the 86th Legislative Session. The Policy Manager would work with Caucus officers, members, and staff to track, draft, review, and summarize legislation. The Policy Manager will be expected to work with the Executive Director on a number of HDC legislative objectives, including but not limited to: • Supporting HDC members and staff throughout the legislative process • Tracking legislation filed by HDC members • Providing summaries for priority legislation filed by members of the Texas Legislature • Developing questions, talking points, and amendments for legislation • Coordinating with advocacy groups, allies, and stakeholders on a regular basis to ensure HDC members and staff have access to up-to-date public policy information Applicants should have experience working with the Texas Legislature, and/or comparable experience working with an advocacy or public policy organization on issues before the Texas Legislature. Strong writing, analytical, and organizational skills are required.

The HDC position is based out of Austin, Texas and currently has an open start date, to begin no later than January 1, 2019 but possibly sooner depending on applicant availability.
