Job Description: 
Foley & Lardner LLP, a national law firm, seeks a part time, temporary Public Affairs Intern for its Austin office as part of the support team for the Public Affairs Practice Group. The Public Affairs Intern should be highly organized, detail-oriented and professional. Job responsibilities include a wide range of projects, such as tracking legislation, legislative research and analysis, coordinating client events and congressional advocacy events, scheduling appointments with Congressional offices, drafting client communications and issue briefs, creating presentations, coordinating client surveys, coordinating and drafting new business proposals, drafting and filing lobby disclosure reports, and assisting with Political Action Committee (PAC) activities and FEC filings. Additional job responsibilities include assisting practice group leadership with practice group management issues and preparing reports periodically for practice group leadership. Administrative tasks include processing client intakes, coordinating client invoices, filing expenses, and time entry. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree or current study in political science or related field, with administrative and/or research experience. Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills and be a self-starter, capable of handling multiple tasks with shifting priorities and tight deadlines with minimal supervision. Working knowledge of Word, Excel and Power Point is desirable. Knowledge of legislative and political process desired. State Capitol experience strongly preferred.
