Job Description: 
The Texas Politics Project seeks a social media intern for the Spring 2017 Semester – with the potential for a longer appointment – to help develop and implement our social media strategy. The goal for this position will be to use social media platforms to develop awareness of the Texas Politics Project, generate inbound traffic to the Texas Politics Project website, and grow the Texas Politics Project’s social media footprint. The social media intern will meet with stakeholders on a weekly basis and gain valuable professional experience in this hands-on role. Responsibilities will include: (i) Managing day-to-day social media publishing across multiple platforms, including Facebook and Twitter; (ii) Developing research documents/memorandums on strategy, traffic, and conversion goals; (iii) Maintaining content on the Texas Politics Project website as part of overall strategy. Qualified applicants will: (i) Have a solid familiarity with social media, such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, SnapChat, etc.; (ii) Currently be pursuing an undergraduate degree in Political Science, Communications, Marketing, or other relevant field; (iii) Have a demonstrated interest in politics; (iv) Have excellent work ethic and attention to detail; and (v) Be an enrolled student at the University of Texas at Austin.
