A handful of issues account for more than 60% of all the lobbying contracts reported in 2009. Many of the single issue lobbyists worked on behalf of municipal bodies like the cities of Austin and Houston as well of issue specific groups like the American Cancer Society and the National Rifle Association. The largest sectors of the Texas economy and the largest individual businesses dominate this list.
