Using pie charts this feature shows the percentages of Texans in 1994 and 2000 who rated different matters as the "most important" problems facing the state. The list of problems mentioned by Texas Crime Poll respondents in surveys each year included crime, drugs, poverty and the economy, government, decline of family values, the criminal Justice and legal systems, gangs, and education. Problems mentioned by respondents that did not fit these categories were categorized as "other." All others were classified as "do not know."
