The chart shows the trend in the Republican percentage of all contributions to Democratic and Republican candidates for seats in the U.S. House of Representatives nationally, in the South, and in Texas from 1980-2002. Minority Republicans received less than 50% of contributions until 1994 when they won the majority. The new Republican majority now receives more than 50% of all contributions.
