2023 Texas Legislative Internship Seminar

At the beginning of the last five legislative sessions in Texas, the Texas Politics Project has presented a day of non-partisan training sessions for interns and new staff members working in and around the Texas Legislature. From professional office behavior to the ins and outs of the legislative process, interns have had the opportunity to hear from professionals from many different walks of Capitol life. The seminar is designed to help prepare students to make productive contributions as legislative interns, as well as to introduce them to ethical and practical guidelines for working in the legislative process.

The 2023 TLIS will be taking place on the campus of The University of Texas at Austin on Saturday, January 14, 2023. Registration is required - find more information about the event and register on Eventbrite.

The Texas Legislative Internship Seminar is open to students and new staff members working in any capitol office, and attending any university.
