Job Description
The campaign for Jennie Birkholz for State Representative (House District 52) is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Communications Intern to assist our communications team in executing our campaign strategy. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in political communications, media relations, and digital marketing. Applicants must be available to work part-time (15-20 hours per week). ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: - Content Creation: Assist in drafting press releases, speeches, social media posts, newsletters, and other campaign materials. / - Social Media Management: Help manage the candidate’s social media accounts by scheduling posts, monitoring engagement, and responding to followers. / - Email Communications: Draft, schedule, and send email communications to supporters, keeping them informed about campaign updates, events, and calls to action. / - Media Relations: Assist in building and maintaining relationships with local media outlets, including distributing press releases and coordinating interviews. / - Administrative Tasks: Perform various administrative tasks to support the communications team, such as maintaining media lists and tracking media coverage.
