Job Description: 
The office of State Senator Nathan Johnson is looking for a bright and motivated individual to serve as a Legislative Aide during the 86th Legislative Session. The position will involve a mixture of policy and office duties, and the Legislative Aide will be expected to take on a wide range of responsibilities and master new skills in a fast-paced environment. Qualifications: • Availability to work greater than 15 hours/week from the start of the internship until the end of May. Greater availability will allow for greater focus on policy issues and a possible monthly stipend • Excellent writing and oral communication skills • High level of organization • Ability to work effectively with stakeholders representing a variety of groups from across the state • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and internet-based research platforms Responsibilities: • Conduct policy research • Track and analyze legislation • Accompany the Senator to Committee, the Senate Floor, and to events • Assist with constituent casework • Perform various administrative tasks and other duties as assigned
