Texas Senate District 19
The office of Texas State Senate District 19 is looking for a motivated, service-minded, and professional individual to work as Legislative Aide in District 19’s Capitol Office. Candidates are expected to have good interpersonal and organizational skills as well as a basic knowledge base regarding public policy. The position is for the fall of 2018, though it may be extending into the spring of 2019. Interns are expected to commit to 10-15 hours per week and will set a regular work schedule within normal business hours of 9:00am-5:30pm in blocks of at least 3hrs at a time. Start and end date are flexible and we will work with your university to earn course credit for your internship, if applicable. Should you meet these requirements and submit a resume, you will be contacted back for an interview. Duties include but are not limited to: learning to use legislative tools, conducting policy research, preparing letters and correspondence, attending meetings with stakeholders, creating and maintaining files and records, writing memos and summaries, reviewing both digital and traditional media, and working on special projects relating to the district.
