Job Description: 
Currently, the Office of State Representative Dwayne Bohac is accepting resumes for a full time legislative intern for 86th Legislative Session. No previous legislative experience is required. The internship will begin on Monday, January 7, 2019 and will conclude on Tuesday, May 28, 2019. Responsibilities include scheduling, addressing constituent issues and correspondence, and acting as an office representative to visitors as well as answering phone calls, and legislative research and analysis. Applicants must be courteous, professional, resourceful, self-motivated, detail-oriented, organized, and be able to multitask efficiently. Excellent oral and written communication skills, interest in the legislative process, and a basic knowledge of Outlook and Microsoft Office are required. Professional attire and punctual attendance required. You can expect to gain: Knowledge of the legislative process, including the committee process and the formal rules of each chamber, an in depth view of the process and research required for crafting legislation, constituent relations experience, improved formal writing capabilities, experience in detailed scheduling, and training for several legislative applications including, Texas Legislative Information System (TLIS), Legislative Draft Request (LDR), Correspondence Management System (CMS), & Legislative Management System (LMS).
