Job Description: 
Duties Under the supervision of our Founder, Matt Curtis, you will be organizing and executing marketing strategies focused on our target markets, with national and international reach online. You will be directly involved in researching, planning, implementing our marketing tactics which include social media, blog posts, profile videos, website updates, email marketing, newsletter support, search engine optimization, and other tasks as needed. You will also support conference and event organizing efforts.
 Knowledge & Skills Knowledge of the marketing planning process and use of social media (Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, Facebook, Instagram), ability to coordinate marketing efforts to maximize efficiency. Successful candidates will be self-starters that are dependable, forward-thinking, and interested in political communication. Bonus points for those with knowledge or experience in economic development, housing, mobility, tourism, the "gig economy", and local government. Smart City Policy Group is public affairs firm helping cities and technology companies, like AirBnB and Uber, navigate the sharing and innovation economy. Our team brings decades of experience in local, state, and federal government to advise and create policy solutions for governments and clients across the globe. Our Founder, Matt Curtis, has decades of experience working on municipal initiatives and best practices in a rapidly-changing city. Matt is a former right-hand to a couple of Austin mayors and one-time Austin transit authority executive. Most recently, Matt served as Senior Director of Global Government Affairs and Public Policy for HomeAway, where he collaborated with government officials and community leaders around the world to create best practices and broadly beneficial regulatory and compliance policies for short-term rentals. Matt has served on the United States Conference of Mayors Business Council, the National League of Cities Corporate Council, the Sharing Economy Advisory Network and the Travel Technology Association board, and currently serves on the Vacation Rental Managers Association board.
