Job Description
The Senator Gregory Luna Scholars and Fellows Program is a unique opportunity for students to learn how the Texas Legislature operates and how policies are created while working side by side experienced professionals. Each student is assigned to the office of a State Senator to perform a variety of legislative tasks. • In addition to the exceptional work experience, program participants will meet with local and state leaders across a wide variety of policy areas for a weekly Speaker Series to discuss leadership development and public policies that shape the state. These group sessions are designed for the participants to not only learn but to build their professional network. Scholars and Fellows will receive a monthly stipend to compensate to assist with living expenses. • The SHRC is committed to enhancing the advancement of educational, professional and leadership opportunities for promising students. This Scholars and Fellows program provides invaluable experience for budding leaders and can guide students on their professional career paths. • Details: The Luna Scholars Program will begin on January 4, 2023 and ends on May 31, 2023. Program participants will be required to work full-time in Austin, Texas for the entire duration of the legislative session. Luna Scholar Program finalists will receive detailed instructions regarding participation requirements as details are confirmed.
