Job Description:
We are a company with a novel managed service using drones to help stop school gun violence. We find that our approach is bipartisan, and believe it will help save lives. The service is new (and very different to other solutions), but we expect to pilot it in several top 10 Texas school districts starting in Q1. Our team includes a former Navy SEAL team SIX Command Master Chief, a serial tech entrepreneur, the #1 American drone pilot on ESPN, and various technical teams. We are working with one of the most influential Texas lobbyists who has held several roles in Gov Abbott's administration.
We are collaborating with various parts of the Texas legislature on permitting and funding our service to be used in schools in Texas. Key stakeholders for this are school district police chiefs, superintendents, district safety boards and district boards. There is a bill in drafting that enables services such as ours - we would like to run a campaign to raise awareness about it among key stakeholders, and to encourage these stakeholders to advocate for successful passage of the bill with their local representatives and senators. We are also considering forming a PAC to support the initiative.
We are looking for an ambitious, driven, persuasive individual with excellent people lobbying skills and initiative. Our goal is to find someone who can take ownership of a grass roots campaign, working with technical marketing resources that we provide. It could involve assisting in content creation, running social campaigns, helping host webinars, direct outreach to stakeholders, making it easier for stakeholders to take supporting actions, etc. If the bill passes, it may become a flagship piece of legislation that other States then follow.
The role will report to the company's CEO and our lobbyist, but again, it requires initiative. The person should ideally be based in Austin, and the role is part-time to fit around your school schedule as necessary. Most activity will be remote, not office based. Our company is still quite stealthy, but we will share more information with candidates that we decide to interview.
