Job Description
Democrat Lizzie Fletcher was elected into Congress representing Houston’s seventh Congressional District in January 2019 after defeating nine-term Republican incumbent John Culberson. Since being elected into office, Lizzie has been committed to working to ensure that this community’s core values—inclusion, innovation, and working together—result in progress, equality, and opportunity for all Americans. Congresswoman Fletcher sits on the House Committee of Transportation, and Infrastructure, as well as on the House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology. Qualifications • Hard working students who are willing to dedicate 8 - 12 hours per week to the campaign • Commitment to democratic principles and values • Willingness to learn and implement organizing skills as taught by senior campaign staff • A desire to expand democratic activism and turnout across TX-07 • Prior experience volunteering or interning for a campaign is preferred, but not required! Description of Internship • Interns will focus on voter contact and volunteer management, and will gain knowledge of how competitive frontline congressional races are operated. • Lead, conduct, and manage volunteer trainings and community events • Organize and participate in volunteer virtual, phone banks, meet and greets, forums, and more. • Gain experience using important campaign management software, such as VoteBuilder, OutVote, and MobilizeAmerica
