Campus Fellow
James Talarico is an eighth-generation Texan, former middle school teacher, and Presbyterian seminarian. As a state representative, he’s led the fight against the billionaire mega-donors and puppet politicians who have taken over Texas. Now, he’s running for the U.S. Senate to take his fight against corruption to Washington and win power back for working people.
The campaign is hiring Campus Fellows to maximize support and turnout for James on their campus. Fellows will serve as the primary organizers for student engagement efforts. This is a part time and paid position running from February 17 through March 3 with the possibility of extension and additional opportunities on the campaign after March 3.
Responsibilities
- Plan, promote and execute weekly voter contact and turnout activities on campus (tabling, dorm storms, relational dorm parties, etc)
- Recruit and manage student volunteers on their campus
- Monitor voter engagement and event activity through campaign tools and systems
- Coordinate with larger campaign team around off-campus canvass events
- Execute GOTV operations on campus February 28 – March 3, including poll site visibility if campus has a satellite voting location
- Support candidate campus tour events during Early Vote if applicable.

- Interest and background in planning and promoting events and working with campus groups and organizations
- Ability to think creatively, be solutions oriented and motivate peers to do the same
- Responsible, highly communicative and self motivated
- Goal-oriented and self-disciplined; able to meet tight deadlines and multitask
Compensation & Commitment
- Campus Fellows will receive a one-time stipend of $1,000 for the program period
- Fellows are expected to commit 15 hours per week during the program
- Fellows are expected to attend daily virtual check-ins with their manager and be in regular communication with the campaign team throughout the program period.
