Congressional Campaign Fellowship

Gina Ortiz Jones for Congress
Job Location
San Antonio
Salary

Job Description
Who’s Gina? Gina is a US Air Force veteran and former intelligence officer running as the Democratic candidate in TX-23. If elected, Gina would be the first LGBTQ+, Iraq War veteran, and Asian-American representative from Texas. She would also be the first woman to represent TX-23.
Why this race? This is one of the most competitive congressional races in the country. Democrats lost this congressional seat in 2016 by about 3000 votes. Democrats need to flip the House this midterm season, and TX-23 is central to this goal. We can only flip this district with your help.
What’s the role? Our congressional campaign fellows will play a key role in executing our field operations over the last few weeks of the election. They will lead events, recruit and train volunteers, knock doors, make calls, and have critical conversations with voters in the most competitive congressional district in the country. Additionally, fellows will take part in a weekly seminar series that will cover topics such as campaign careers, field strategy, campaign finance and fundraising, and platform development.
Fellowship Requirements:
- Passionate about electing progressives to public office
- Able to commute to North San Antonio (1 hour and 20 minutes from Austin) at least once a week for the next seven weeks
- Can commit at least 10 hrs/week to the campaign (some remote work available)
- Willing to work in a fast-paced campaign environment
