Texans for Greg Abbott is looking to add two data interns for the Spring semester. Governor Abbott's campaign is one of the largest non-presidential campaigns in the country, and as we are in the process of planning and gearing up for the next election cycle in 2022, which begins now. Tasks assigned will vary widely on what is being prioritized on any given day, but will generally include analyzing previous election results, compiling reports, updating various trackers and spreadsheets, data cleanup and data entry, among other things. Our data interns work a lot on Excel, including using formulas, pivot tables and other tools available on Excel. No prior experience is necessary -- we usually train our interns and its one of the skills you can pick up here. For those especially interested, we also work with SQL and other database software and have tasks from time to time there. In addition to data, you may be asked to assist other departments such as digital or political with any time sensitive or general intern tasks, though the large majority of your work will be on the data side. It's a relatively laid-back atmosphere and an enjoyable experience. We've had quite a few interns come back in future semesters. Many of our previous interns, from the data department and other departments, have also gone on to be hired and promoted internally by the campaign, hired at the Texas Capitol, and other related jobs. So if it's something you're interested in doing after school or if you just want the experience, you're welcome to apply. - We are looking for interns who can come into the office in downtown Austin for a few hours a day, two days a week. - We have strict COVID protocols and you will be required to get COVID tested regularly as part of this internship.
