Digital Lead
Reports to: Campaign Manager and/or Communications Director 
Location: Austin, TX — hybrid position, with some in-person event coverage throughout the city 
Time commitment: 10-12 hours per week

About the Role: The Digital Lead is the day-to-day voice of the campaign across all our digital channels. You'll turn Steven's message and the energy of the campaign trail into content that informs, excites, and mobilizes District 1 residents to help us grow our supporter base ahead of Election Day. 

What you'll do:

• Plan and maintain the campaign's content calendar across Facebook, Instagram, and any additional platforms (TikTok, X, etc.).
• Create and publish posts, graphics, short-form video, and stories that reflect the campaign's voice and platform.
• Supports online rapid response 
• Cover events in real time — photos, video clips, live updates from canvasses, forums, and community gatherings.
• Engage with followers: respond to comments and messages, and flag anything that needs a staff or candidate response.
• Track basic performance (reach, engagement, follower growth) and adjust based on what's working.
• Handles creation of fundraising materials 

What we're looking for:

• Strong writing and a feel for tone — able to sound authentic, not corporate.
• Hands-on experience running social accounts (campaign, nonprofit, small business, or personal projects all count).
• User knowledge of Google Drive 
• Comfort creating simple graphics and editing short video (Canva, CapCut, Later, or similar).
• Quick, reliable, and responsive — social moves fast.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish or English/Vietnamese) is a plus.
• Connection to or genuine interest in District 1 and Austin's East Side communities is a strong plus.
