The League of Women Voters of Texas is proud to be nonpartisan, neither supporting nor opposing candidates or political parties at any level of government, but always working on vital issues of concern to members and the public. Our mission is Empowering Voters. Defending Democracy. Are you looking for a way to get involved? Stand with the League for justice and democracy! The work of League interns depending on the election cycle. We have a range of activities to suit the individual intern’s skills and interests. The internship activities are structured so that interns have meaningful experiences that build on their academic skills. Tasks for the 2019 Fall semester will include: implementing voter educationa and GOTV initiatives, writing press releases and other communications and fundraising activities. In addition to the these tasks, each intern plans a unique projects depending on their interest, skills and needs. By the end of the internship, students will have a “show & tell” product to add to their portfolio to be able to show future employers the quality of their work in a real life setting. Interns will be working with League members who are seasoned community advocates.
