Environmental Advocacy Intern

Offered By:
Environment Texas
Job Location:
Austin
Job Description:
As an intern with Environment Texas, you’ll help us educate and engage people on the important issues we're working on, like plastic pollution, clean energy, protecting open spaces and more. Whether it’s by getting our issues into the media, helping to grow our coalitions, or organizing events, you’ll be helping us build the public support it takes to win. You’ll learn how to analyze environmental problems, push for smart solutions, and build public support for our goals. You’ll work side-by-side with one of our staff, learning the ropes of how to organize and advocate for environmental solutions. You’ll attend briefings and trainings to learn even more about environmental issues and gain organizing skills. We’re looking for people who are passionate about the environment and are ready to make a difference now. An internship with Environment Texas is one of the best ways to gain experience for a career in environmental advocacy. Internships are unpaid positions. About Environment Texas Environment Texas is a policy and action group working to tackle the most profound problem of our time: a way of living that is destroying the natural world. We’re advocates for energy conservation and renewable power, so we can keep oil in the ground and stop burning fossil fuels. We’re champions of plastic reduction, so nothing we use for a few minutes is allowed to pollute our oceans for centuries. And we’re defenders of wildlife and wild places, both for their own sake as well as the awe and wonder they bring to our lives. Environment Texas and our national network of 30 state environmental groups work to improve our quality of life by reducing the pollution and other harms of how we produce, consume and dispose of more and more stuff. And we do it one step at a time, by winning results for clean air, clean water, clean energy, wildlife, open spaces, and a livable climate that make a tangible difference in people's lives and our environment. If you want to work hard, challenge yourself, and make a real impact on the critical environmental issues of our time, consider an internship with Environment Texas. Environment Texas is an equal opportunity employer.
