Salaried Democratic Campaign Positions (November 2021 to March 2022) ABOUT THE CAMPAIGN State Representative James Talarico, the youngest member of the Texas Legislature, is running in North Austin’s House District 50. Team Talarico is seeking talented, hardworking staff to ensure we can continue advocating for progressive values in the Texas Legislature. While previous political experience is valued, it is not a prerequisite for applying. ABOUT THE CANDIDATE Rep. Talarico serves as the youngest member of the Texas Legislature. In his second term, Rep. Talarico was named one of the Best Legislators by Texas Monthly magazine for his progressive accomplishments including capping insulin copays, improving early childhood education, and banning police reality TV shows. Rep. Talarico has also gained national attention for his vocal opposition to the Texas Republicans’ racist social studies bill and anti-trans legislation. FIELD DIRECTOR AND FIELD ORGANIZERS Develop and execute the campaign field plan Persuade and organize voters on the phone and at the doors Track all direct voter contact achievement Build community-driven volunteer teams Organize and run field events Establish relationships with community leaders IDEAL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE a commitment to Democratic principles and ideals a scrappy attitude and no-excuses personality a head for numbers and a heart for people a meticulous attention to detail Full-time positions starting at $4,000 per month.
