Field Lead

Reports to: Candidate and Campaign Manager 
Location: Austin, TX — hybrid, although most tasks are primarily in-person in District 1 
Time commitment: 10-12 hours per week

About the Role: The Field Lead runs the campaign's voter contact and volunteer program; the boots-on-the-ground mobilizer that's ready to win a local race! You'll build and lead a team of volunteers to knock doors, make calls, and turn out voters across District 1. You'll own the Get Out The Vote (GOTV) effort. 

What you'll do: 

• Build, train, and manage the campaign's volunteer team.
• Plan and run voter contact programs: canvassing, phone banking, and community outreach.
• Cut turf, set weekly contact goals, and track progress toward them.
• Recruit volunteers and keep them engaged, supported, and coming back.
• Design and execute the GOTV plan for early voting and Election Day.
• Manage voter data and tools (e.g., VAN/voter file or comparable system) and keep records clean.
• Represent the campaign at community events and build relationships with local organizations.

What we're looking for: 

• Strong organizing and people-management skills — you can motivate volunteers and lead a team.
• Highly organized, goal-driven, and comfortable with data and tracking.
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends, especially as Election Day approaches.
• Familiarity with District 1 neighborhoods and Austin's East Side communities is a strong plus.
• Prior field, organizing, or volunteer-leadership experience welcome (campaign experience not required).
• User knowledge of NGP Van is a plus. 
• Bilingual (English/Spanish or English/Vietnamese) is a plus.
