Job Description:
The campaign for Jennie Birkholz for State Representative (House District 52) is seeking a team (5-8) of highly organized, professional, and responsive Field Organizer Interns. We are a passionate and dedicated team committed to grassroots organizing and community engagement. As a Field Organizer Intern, you will play a crucial role in mobilizing supporters, building relationships, and driving voter turnout for our campaign. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, outgoing, and committed to making a difference in local politics. Applicants must be available to work part-time (15 hours per week). This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in political campaigning and community organizing. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: - Assist in the development and implementation of the campaign's field strategy, including voter outreach, volunteer recruitment, and voter registration efforts; - Recruit, train, and manage a team of volunteers to engage with voters through door-to-door canvassing, phone banking, and community events; - Conduct outreach to community organizations, interest groups, and local leaders to build partnerships and support for the campaign; - Utilize voter data and technology tools to track voter contact results and volunteer activities; - Provide regular updates to campaign leadership on field activities, accomplishments, and challenges; - Keep up-to-date on Texas politics and current events in the legislature. Must have reliable transportation.
