Government Affairs Intern

The Central Health Government Affairs team is currently accepting applications for a part-time summer intern. The internship is an opportunity for students to learn more about local government and government affairs, with an emphasis on the budget development process for Central Health and the City of Austin. This position will support the development of the Central Health 2026 budget, create and compile briefing materials, assist in the preparation for presentations to local government and community groups and perform general administrative duties.

Essential Functions

• Assist in the preparation of presentations and briefings such as budget presentations, work session presentations, and public meetings.
• Provide in-person support for presentations, briefings and public events.
• Support the Government Affairs Team in the coordination of projects between government affairs, board governance, communications, strategy, health care delivery, finance, the CEO's office.
• Assists in monitoring of public meetings (e.g., Austin City Council, Travis County Commissioners Court)

Upper undergraduate and graduate students preferred.
