Ironclad Partners is a Texas-based public affairs firm offering government relations, strategic communications, reputation management, and strategic counsel to a variety of clients. Ironclad Partners is seeking a highly motivated intern to assist in the tracking, organization, communication, and advancement of our clients’ legislative priorities in Texas. Ironclad’s intern will acquire practical experience while gaining first-hand exposure to the legislative process. Key responsibilities for the internship will include: • Conducting research on specific bills, issues, and voting records; • Attending committee hearings and writing reports; • Delivering materials to Legislative offices; and, • Other duties as assigned. HOURS/COMPENSATION: 15 - 20 hours per week, $10.00 per hour. Monday-Friday 8am-5pm, flexible QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE: Current students enrolled in a four-year college or university. REQUIRED SKILLS: Excellent verbal, writing, research, and editing skills; experience with word processing and spreadsheets; Solid judgment; critical thinking skills; self-starter; attentive to detail; a sense of teamwork; ability to handle multiple tasks; Must be organized self-starter who can exercise independent judgment; able to work well under pressure. PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: • Previous internship experience in politics or public policy (campaigns, legislative/congressional offices, lobby firms, political consultancies, etc.) • Personal laptop computer • Available in Austin from January 22 through May 27, 2019. (Earlier January start date possible, but not required.)
