A Texas lobbying and government affairs firm is seeking one to two legislative session interns to assist firm principals with client relations. Expected services include: • Utilizing legislation monitoring software to track movement of key bills (training provided); • Assist in development of one-pagers and other advocacy materials; • Monitoring and summarizing legislative activities such as committee hearings, floor debates, and more; • Scheduling meetings (virtual or in-person) with legislative offices and committees; • Assist with research on legislation and policy issues; • Writing bill summaries; and • Help prepare weekly client newsletters and end-of-session reports.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS • No specific educational requirements, but prefer someone pursuing or having a Bachelor or Master’s degree with a strong communications and writing background. • Proficiency in document production, including Adobe, Excel, Power Point, Word and Canva. • Must have own computer. • Work will be performed at the office. PREFERRED SKILLS & OTHER PREREQUISITES Non-partisan, but with political acumen; Strong writing and editing skills; Knowledge working in MailChimp, WordPress, and applications for website management and mass communications; Reliability, dedication & keen sense of personal responsibility; and Semi-regular hours, primarily of your own choosing and/or working around possible school schedules. ADDITIONAL NOTES Availability from January to June 2025 is a MUST. Potential for position to go into the summer.
