Legislative Aide

Representative Shawn Thierry of House District 146 is seeking a responsible, motivated and hardworking Legislative Aide to assist with the following duties. Applicants should be able to interact between public officials, state agencies, and constituents with a high degree of professionalism. The applicant should have an interest in tax and energy policy. This is a full-time, session only position for the 88th regular and any special sessions called by the governor and ends one month after final adjournment. Responsibilities: This position requires frequent contact with constituents, public officials, media, advocates and other Capitol and District staff. The qualified candidate must: • Work long hours and weekends as required. • Have strong organizational skills and handle multiple priorities in a timely manner. • Provide evidence of strong writing skills, proofreading and editing. • Have excellent interpersonal relationship skills and demonstrate an attention to details. • Demonstrate experience with digital media and other constituent engagement efforts. • Perform routine office and other clerical duties as needed. • Work collaboratively with other legislative staff and be a "team player." • Prepare and organize legislative materials as needed by the Representative. • Work closely with the Representative, Chief of staff, District office staff and others to ensure issues are known and thoroughly communicated.
