Job Description
The Office of Dean Senator Judith Zaffirini is looking for interns seeking experience within the Texas Legislature. Interns will have the opportunity to assist staff with policy research, perform administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, sorting, answering phones, and serving as backups to legislative aides. Required Skills 1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills 2. Critical thinking skills 3. Computer skills, knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Word and Excel 4. Ability to respond professionally to legislators, staff, and the public 5. Strong desire to learn the legislative process through hands-on experience The work schedule can be flexible; however, candidates ideally must be able to work a minimum of 15 hours a week.
