Job Description: 
The Texas Star Alliance is looking for motivated individuals looking to get more involved in advocacy efforts at the state legislature. We are looking for 5 interns to work with us during the upcoming legislative session. You will have the option to work and learn from different principals who specialize in a variety of different policies. Our firm specializes in healthcare, transportation, electricity, employment law, pharmacy, and education. We are a results-driven, bipartisan government affairs organization backed by a trusted reputation and a track record of success. Our top-ranked team of proven leaders represents an unmatched depth of expertise across a broad range of issues and industries. Responsibilities would include - Conduct research on specific legislation as directed by principals - Produce written analysis of policy and research in a clear and concise manner - Maintain an ongoing understanding of political news and current events - Development of data and resources as directed - Running errands as needed - General office maintenance duties - Operate reception desk (i.e., answer phone calls, greet clients and visitors, filing, etc.) Some knowledge of the Texas legislative system is preferred, but not required as training on systems used for legislative tracking and research including TELICON, Texas Legislature Online, and Texas Statutes will be provided.
