Legislative Intern

Martinez & Associates is seeking a legislative intern for the upcoming 89th legislative session. The ideal candidate is passionate, hard-working, and highly organized and has strong written and oral communication skills. Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required. Previous legislative experience is preferred. Responsibilities include: • Monitor filing of bills and track bills as they move through the legislative process • Analyze bills, write bill summaries, update tracking spreadsheet, communicate bill progress • Conduct research and write summary briefs on policy issues • Monitor and report on committee hearings and floor debate • Draft testimony, fact sheets, end-of-session reports, and other materials as necessary • Answer phones, schedule meetings and travel Hours: Monday through Friday 8:30 am – 5:00 pm.
