Job Description

The Office of State Representative Brooks Landgraf is excited to offer a part-time, unpaid internship for college students interested in learning more about Texas government, public policy, and public service. This internship provides hands-on experience in a state legislative office and is a great opportunity for college students considering careers in government, law, communications, or public affairs.

Part-Time | Approximately 10 hours per week

Responsibiltes:

  • Answer office phones and assist with constituent services

  • Work closely with staff on day-to-day projects

  • Conduct research on legislation, policy issues, and current events

  • Help draft correspondence and other written materials

  • Attend briefings and meetings when available

  • Track and monitor political and legislative activity

Recommended Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Good organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks

  • A team-oriented attitude and willingness to learn

  • Careful attention to detail

  • Basic to strong computer skills
