Job Description: 
SUMMARY: Internships with Senator Miles offer students a unique opportunity to acquire new skills and gain first-hand knowledge of public policy and the legislative process in the Texas Senate. The fall internship will have an emphasis on legislative research and administrative duties. Work involves research, preparing briefing documents, and responding to constituent inquiries. General office duties are expected. Works under the immediate direction of the Chief of Staff or Legislative Director. IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS: Strong writing and research skills, analytical reasoning & critical thinking skills, experience and/or coursework in public policy or related field is preferable, self-driven, positive attitude, strong commitment to progressive public policy, ability to work cooperatively and courteously with others, thoroughness and careful attention to detail .
