Job Description: 
The Capitol Office of State Senator José Menéndez is offering an internship for the spring of 2023 during the 88th Legislative Session to graduate and undergraduate students. The internship will be multifaceted with a particular emphasis on legislative research and administrative duties. The internship will teach students how to research legislation, develop policy positions, respond to constituent needs, and perform other tasks. The program will also allow students to work on their topics of interest when possible. The work being done will be an integral part of the public service provided by the Senator's office. Applicants ought to possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills, solid computer and writing skills, work to develop an understanding of complex policy issues, display a strong work ethic, and be adaptable. The atmosphere of the Senate office can be very quick-paced and highly demanding. Thus, a professional manner is expected at all times. The Office of State Senator José Menéndez is open to working with the student's respective college or university to assist with course credit for the internship. The hours of the internship will vary dependent on the student's schedule.
