Job Description
JOIN OUR HISTORIC TEAM In the 88th session, Salman Bhojani made history as one of the first Muslim and first South Asian to serve in the Texas Legislature. State Representative Bhojani is seeking a motivated individual interested in gaining valuable first-hand experience to assist with the day-to-day operations of a Capitol legislative office, and District office. ABOUT REP. BHOJANI After immigrating to Texas as a teenager, Salman Bhojani worked 3 minimum wage jobs to help support his family – climbing the ladder from convenience store cashier to successful business owner, attorney, Euless City Councilman, Mayor Pro Tem, and now State Representative for House District 92. TWO INTERNS NEEDED (AT THE CAPITOL AND IN THE DISTRICT) Our team is looking for two legislative interns to join our office from June 26 – August 18, 2023. This position will assist with: assisting with constituent correspondence recognizing and honoring achievements by constituents answering phones, checking the mail, and greeting visitors researching legislation and policy areas brainstorming ideas for social media posts, emails, and engaging videos performing other administrative tasks and duties as directed Ideal candidates will have: strong research and writing skills the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment a positive, driven, and get-it-done attitude a heart for people and public service A stipend of $200/month will be provided to each intern.
