The Travis County Democratic Party is launching the 2022 Coordinated Campaign. The Coordinated Campaign is an opportunity for us to pool resources to maximize our efforts for voter registration and turning out voters by working closely with candidates, elected officials, and allied organizations toward our electoral goals. The Coordinated Campaign Canvasser is responsible for working with our Coordinated Field Organizers to engage voters. This role works closely with the TCDP to increase Democratic turnout in Central Texas. The Coordinated Campaign Canvassers report to the Field Director and Field Organizers. Duties and responsibilities: ● Communicate the importance of voting for the entire Democratic ticket in the General Election. ● Perform door-to-door canvassing to voters utilizing MiniVan on your smartphone. ● Track all required information in MiniVan and report results daily. ● Participate in trainings and staff meeting with Field Organizers and the Field Director. ● Report and document any issues you may have while canvassing. ● Meet daily and weekly canvassing goals. Qualifications: ● A strong commitment to Democratic ideals, including grassroots organizing. ● Excellent customer service and communications skills. ● Desire to work in a fast-paced environment with a positive attitude. ● Proactively fosters an inclusive atmosphere and commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion. ● Ability to demonstrate multicultural competence – the awareness, knowledge and skills needed to work with others who are culturally different from self in meaningful, relevant and productive ways. ● Access to a car, laptop, and mobile phone is necessary. ● Willingness to work in outdoor environments- heat, rain, and cold. ● Must have basic mapping programs on your smartphone ● Exceptional skills in diplomacy, negotiation, consensus building, and relationship development. ● Strong public speaking skills. ● Strong organizational skills. ● Comfortable working long, irregular hours for Democratic candidates and causes. Term of employment: This position begins no later than September 24, 2022, and ends November 15, 2022. Compensation: ● Hourly wage is $22/hour ● Personal mobile device and data use reimbursement ● Gas reimbursement ● Unlimited PTO policy.
