Job Description:
The Texas Energy and Climate Caucus is seeking a Policy and Communications Manager to
coordinate the Member Services, Communications and Policy programs during the 89th Texas
Legislative Session. The job requires professionalism, a strong desire to build bipartisan
consensus, a collaborative work ethic, adaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced environment,
and strong written and verbal communications skills. Experience with the Texas legislative
process is required and a background in climate, environment and energy policy is preferred.
The Texas Energy and Climate Caucus is a legislative caucus with over 55 members that are
leading the way toward a sustainable energy economy and represent diverse geographies from
across the state.
The Policy and Communications Manager position is a “mixed purpose” position with the duties
divided between member services and policy activities and will be required to track time by
activity for grant compliance purposes. This position will research, develop, and implement
programs that are essential to the mission of the caucus, which provide educational
opportunities for legislative members, policy research and legislative support. The caucus also
highlights the legislative leadership of the members on climate, environment and energy issues
through media and the press. The Policy and Communications Manager will report to the
Executive Director of the Caucus.
