We are looking for a young and talented Political Communications & Operations Intern with a commitment to democratic principles and values, a positive and hardworking attitude, and a passion for electing good Democrats up and down the ballot. This intern will help write and develop political messaging across multiple platforms, follow and report on news from the 88th legislative session, and assist with operational duties. Applicants should be strong writers and have an understanding of the Texas political landscape and current events. Applicants should also be highly organized. This intern will gain hands-on experience in both legislative and campaign politics. Political or communications experience is preferred but not required. Graphic design and video editing experience are preferred but not required. A connection to Texas is strongly preferred. Applicants will be considered on a rolling basis with a desire to start immediately. Women, people of color, and LGBTQIA+ applicants are strongly encouraged to apply. This internship is fully remote with flexible hours. Duties and responsibilities Draft language for social media posts, press releases, and emails. • Help develop creative and strategic social media programs. • Assist in managing and updating social media accounts. • Help manage the calendar. • Respond to email inquiries and handle various administrative tasks • Assist with research and data analysis • Participate in team meetings and support team initiatives Requirements: Strong writing skills • Familiarity with Google drive and Excel. • Knowledge of social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok). • Ability to multi-task and problem-solve. • Ability to consistently meet deadlines. • Highly motivated; capable of closely following directions when required and taking personal initiative when appropriate • Interest in learning more about political communications. • Commitment to democratic principles and values. Preferred: Spanish language proficiency. • Graphic design experience. • Political communications experience. • Creative talents.
