Job Description
Martin+Crumpton Group LLC, a strategic advisory firm, seeks an entrepreneurial and creative part-time research and communications fellow to join our team this summer. In this role, you will conduct qualitative and quantitative research, support public strategy initiatives, and produce analysis for private-sector clients who require insight on geopolitical risks and opportunities that affect potential business investments, partnerships, valuations, strategy, acquisitions, and new initiatives. We’re looking for someone who: -is a team player with an energetic, can-do spirit -is tech-savvy, organized and has excellent time management skills -is tenacious and intellectually curious, asking questions that lead to better answers -knows how to think critically, engage in research, and evaluate information from media and intelligence sources -takes initiative, solves problems creatively, and offers unique ideas -writes clearly and concisely under demanding deadlines -can cultivate and uphold strong working relationships with team members, including leadership -can connect current geopolitical trends to practical client needs -has a desire to learn and improve their professional skills The primary responsibilities of this position include: -Working under the guidance of an analyst to research individuals, companies, markets, sectors, and topics of interest to our clients using company databases, open sources, and network of contacts in government, think tanks, NGOs, and the private industry. -Monitoring and interpreting information on geopolitical, financial, and other market-relevant developments, gleaned from press, contacts, industry publications, domestic and foreign government publications, online resources, and other sources. -Gathering, synthesizing, and analyzing information and intelligence to create well- written reports for a business audience that are timely, relevant, clear, and well- structured. -Assisting with the development and execution of strategic processes and communication efforts. -Supporting the M+CG team with various writing, editing, social media, and marketing efforts. Desired qualifications: -Currently enrolled or a recent graduate of an undergraduate or graduate degree program related to Journalism/Communications, Political Science, Economics, Business Administration, or International Business. -Experience conducting research and writing for a professional executive audience under tight deadlines. -Foreign language reading ability, especially in Arabic, Spanish, Portuguese, Korean, Japanese, Russian, Chinese, or French, is a plus. This is a temporary, full-time position paid hourly (student: $15/hour, post-college: $20/hour) beginning June 1, 2021 and ending in August 2021, with the possibility of permanent employment. This position will be located at Martin+Crumpton Group’s offices in Dallas, Texas with the option to occasionally work remotely. We conduct interviews and hire well-qualified candidates on a rolling basis.
