Job Description
The Purpose of the Texas Association of Business (TAB) is to champion the best business climate in the world, unleashing the power of free enterprise to enhance lives for generations. We represent thousands of companies of all sizes and industry sectors. Our members and 200 local chamber partners employ hundreds of thousands of Texans. TAB is the official state affiliate of the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) and the Texas State Chamber of Commerce. TAB organizes an annual fly-in to Washington DC to link Texas leaders to the White House, federal administration, Texas Congressional delegation, and relevant leaders to advocate for our Texas-friendly pro-business agenda. We are currently planning a fly-in for late February 2023. This position will support TAB staff to plan the fly-in, develop the timeline, organize background for key issues, support complex logistics and attend/staff the DC fly-in. Additionally, TAB operates the Texas Chamber of Commerce Executives, a collection of 260 Chamber Executives from throughout the state. TAB staff organize multiple committees related to professional development, advocacy, communications, and the annual conference. This position will support TAB staff in developing collateral, communications, organization, and support of committees. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, able to multi-task, proactive, motivated, and dependable. Responsibilities and duties include: • Various levels of policy research. • Create infographics and onepagers on a wide range of policy areas. • Compare and analyze current and proposed policies. • Assist with policy related event planning and execution. • Write federal and state policy op-eds to be published on the TAB blog. • Help create social media content for the communications team. • Help with a variety of different administrative duties and events.
