Beto for Texas is seeking Part-Time Student Fellows to join our data-driven organizing program. We are looking for candidates who are passionate about creating change and investing in the future of Texas by engaging and mobilizing students on campus. We firmly believe in the power of young people to affect change and defeat the status quo. A Student Fellow is a part-time employee who reports back to a Campus Manager. Student fellows work to build a diverse, invested team of Student Leaders. Our student fellows will engage, mobilize and register young people, providing an opportunity to activate students on campus. No prior campaign or organizing experience is required to become a Student Fellow on the Beto for Texas team. Above all else, we are looking for students who feel the importance of this election. Responsibilities - Work 10/hr Per Week - Become a Volunteer Deputy Registrar Work on a team to execute large-scale voter registration - Canvass for voter registration, commit to vote cards on college campuses, school events and other spaces - Build relationships with campus administration, faculty, student clubs and student leaders to advance the engagement of students - Recruit, train and manage Student Volunteers - Use technology that helps us stay productive and contact students efficiently (Google Apps, Slack, etc.) Qualifications - Must have access to a laptop and smartphone - Ability to work well with a team, and take direction and feedback from management - Self-starter who shows strong initiative - Must be passionate about mobilizing young leaders - Strong effective verbal and interpersonal skills - Comfortable working and interacting with students and staff in-person
