Job Description
The Health & Wellness of CPPP is looking for a dynamic graduate or undergraduate student intern for Fall 2016. The intern will work with CPPP health team members Anne Dunkelberg, Stacey Pogue, Katharine Ligon, Rachel Cooper, and Melissa McChesney (see www.cppp.org for more). The intern will primarily focus on issues related to access to health care services, including mental health care as well as obtaining and maintaining health care coverage. Specific tasks may include:  Assisting Health & Wellness team members with coordinating meeting planning with CHIP Coalition meeting chairs and speakers housed in multiple organizations;  Attending CHIP Coalition monthly meetings to take minutes and be responsible for soliciting input for, drafting, and sending regular communications to the CHIP Coalition’s listserv,  Assisting the chairperson of the CHIP Coalition’s Outreach and Eligibility Technical Assistance workgroup with bi-monthly meeting planning logistics and communications;  Assisting with outreach to kinship caregiver support groups across the state and coordinate communications to their members;  Assisting in developing and overseeing a tool to collect the stories of kinship caregivers and their needs;  Assisting Health & Wellness team members with other policy and data analysis as needed related to public insurance, and health reforms, and/or nutrition policy;  Assisting with preparation for the start of the legislative session;  be encouraged to author or joint-author blog posts or other agreed-on research products on related policy topics.  Assisting with other necessary tasks as they arise. If the intern requests, we will work with them to identify an area of health policy research that is relevant to the Center’s work and coordinated with the intern’s academic goals in which they can engage.
