Job Description: 
Access Education RRISD is a local, grassroots organization of engaged, concerned Round Rock ISD parents and community members organizing locally. We believe that public education can and should support the common good as well as each individual student. Our efforts are guided by our values: Safe Access for All, Equitable Practices, Student Outcomes, Community Voice, and Data-Driven Decisions. We are building our teams for the upcoming fall 2024 school board election, and are looking for a number of interns to work with our volunteer staff to gain experience in the political campaign field. These positions are primarily remote, with the opportunity to join local in-person events, but in-person attendance is not mandatory. Our organization is seeking a group (3-5) of energetic and inspiring Volunteer Coordinator Interns to manage and organize our dedicated team of volunteers. This vital role involves logistical coordination and direct management of volunteers across various initiatives, including election-related activities and spreading awareness for pro-public education candidates. Key Responsibilities - Management & Organization: Oversee volunteers, ensuring efficient coordination and management of their activities and roles. - Poll Greeting Manager: Organize, schedule, and supervise poll greeting activities, supporting the dissemination of information and adherence to election laws. - Literature and Materials Coordination: Organize and execute the distribution of signs, postcards, and literature, serving as the main hub for these essential resources. - Liaise with Campaigns: Work closely with specific campaigns, aligning volunteer efforts (block walking, writing postcards, distributing signs, and more) with the needs and strategies of school board and pro-public education candidates. - Volunteer Recruitment and Placement: Actively recruit new volunteers and place them in roles that fit their skills and advance campaign goals including contacting key community members to attend and/or speak at school board meetings or other events. - Event and Training Execution: Organize and execute community events and trainings to empower volunteers and enhance their ability to advocate effectively. Qualifications - Strong managerial and organizational skills - Highly developed interpersonal and communication abilities - Proactive attitude with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment - Previous experience in campaign coordination, event planning, or volunteer management is a plus - Passion for public education and knowledge of local educational policies - Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team - Flexibility to work during non-standard hours, including early voting periods and Election Day This internship will allow you to gain hands-on experience, develop leadership skills, and contribute to a cause that impacts communities at the foundational level.
